All lanes on Interstate 77 Southbound were closed after an accident involving a tractor-trailer which in turn caused another, rear-end collision.
The crash happened around 9 p.m. after a trailer came loose from the hitch on the tractor.
Luckily, no one was injured in the tractor-trailer accident; however, the traffic slowed due to the crash and caused a rear-end collision in which several were injured.
According to Medics, four patients received treatment, one with life-threatening injuries. All four were transported to Carolinas Medical Center Main.
Officials say that charges will be filed for at least one of the collisions.
