Davidson Teen Escapes Death in Fiery Crash

A Davidson teen has miraculously escaped serious injury and death after a fiery crash on Interstate 85 Southbound near mile marker 98.

According to Troopers, the 19-tear-old teen’s car experienced tire failure, wet off the side of the road, crashed into an embankment and caught fire.

The teen was initially trapped inside the car, but was able to free himself by climbing out of the back window.

Luckily no other cars were involved the crash.

Crash Involving Armored Truck in Davidson

A portion of U.S. 52 North is closed after an motor-vehicle accident involving an armored truck Monday night.

Davidson County Emergency Crews received a call about the accident at around 9:15 p.m.

At least two people were involved in the crash, and details on the amount of vehicles are still forthcoming. EMS transported one person to an area hospital.

Crews had to close U.S. 52 North between MM 92 and 97.

Fatal Crash in Davidson Sends Car Flying Off Bridge

A fatal crash on a Friday afternoon on U.S. 52 in Davidson County has left a Charlotte man and woman dead and another critically injured.

The man, 21, and the woman, 19, were both killed after the woman driver suddenly swerved the Ford Taurus sedan inot a guardrain and went off a bridge.

According to authorities, the car fell approximately 50 feet to its landing on Old U.S. 64 and then flipping onto an embankment.

A 16-year-old passenger was injured and transported to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.

Authorities confirmed that drugs and alcohol were not involved in the crash.  A friend of the driver commented that the car was having steering problems prior to the crash.

Davidson Man Faces Charges After Fatal Head-On Collision

A Davidson man is facing charges after accusations of driving drunk, running a stop sign and killing his passenger in a head-on collision Friday night.

The wreck happened around 9:45 p.m. when the 42-year-old man was driving his Mustang on Highway 64 East to Highway 109 and crashed into a Ford Explorer head-on.

The 64-year-old male passenger in the Mustang was in the front passenger seat at the time of the crash and died on the scene.

The driver was transported to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center and was reported to be in critical condition.  His father, another passenger in the Mustang, was also transported to the hospital and is said to be in fair condition.

According to authorities, the driver of the Ford Explorer that was struck head-on did not sustain any life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the Mustang was charged with failing to stop for a stop sign, driving left of center, possession of an open container of alcohol, failure to wear a seatbelt and driving while impaired.
