Woman Crashes Into Bus Ejecting Toddler Son From Car–Charlotte Accident Attorneys

A Charlotte woman who was speeding and apparently on drugs crashed into a CATS bus causing her 2-year-old to be ejected from her car Friday afternoon in southwest Charlotte.

The crash happened on South Tryon near Yorkmont Road at approximately 3:30 p.m.  The woman driver was traveling northbound on South Tryon Street when her car sideswiped into a 2001 Chrysler Concorde.   She then slammed into a CATS bus and her 2-year-old son was ejected from the car.

South Tryon was blocked on both sides for 2 hours while crews worked to clear the scene. The 2-year-old was rushed to Carolinas Medical Center with serious injuries.  The woman was also transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Investigators of the crash in a preliminary investigation found that the child was not properly restrained in the child seat.

The woman driver has been arrested and charged with DWI, no operators license, reckless driving, failure to reduce speed, child restrain violation, and two counts of felony serious injury by vehicle.

Davidson Coach Suffers Serious Injuries–Charlotte Car Accident Attorneys

A Davidson College baseball coach was seriously injured in a crash that occurred Tuesday night after his van was struck from behind by a speeding driver on Interstate 77 north, near I-485 in Charlotte.

The crash was reported at approximately 9:20 p.m.  According to reports, both vehicles went off the highway.  The force of the crash sent the man’s van spinning around until it collided sideways with a tree.  Two lanes were closed as Highway Patrol and medical rescue units responded to the crash.  The drivers of each car were hospitalized.

The baseball coach who was driving the van suffered multiple injuries, including a broken leg and kneecap, broken ribs, a punctured lung, and cuts on his head.   Authorities say that the man is stable and expected to recover.

According to reports, alcohol may have been a factor in the crash.

Fatal Lexington Motorcycle Crash-Columbia Car Wreck Attorneys

There was a deadly motorcycle accident Saturday morning on Edmund Highway in Lexington, South Carolina, near Columbia.

The 45 year old motorcycle rider died when he ran into the rear of a pick-up truck.   Current police reports do not show if any driver was ticketed, but rear-end collisions rarely result in tickets for the person rear-ended.

The biker died at the Lexington scene from head and body trauma.

The accident investigation is being conducted by the Lexington County Coroner’s office, the South Carolina Highway Patrol, and the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department.

Councilman Named in Wrongful Death Lawsuit For Four-Car Crash–SC Accident Attorneys

A SC Councilman has been named in a wrongful death lawsuit surrounding a 201o ca accident that killed a 70-year-old woman.

The woman driver was struck by four vehicles on November 4, 2010.  The driver of the first car that collided with the woman’s vehicle has pleaded guilty for driving under the influence.  The Councilman’s vehicle was the second car to hit; however, he argues that he tried to swerve and is not responsible for the woman’s death.  This argument is further echoed by the Councilman’s attorney.

According to the Coroner, it was impossible to determine which of the four vehicles were responsible for the woman’s fatal injuries.

The Councilman is being sued for over $5 million.

NC Trooper Causes Accident on I-95- NC Accident Attorney

Early Wednesday morning, a NC Highway Patrol Officer was traveling on Interstate 95 in North Carolina near mile 61, when he failed to yield the right of way when he was merging onto the highway.It has since been determined that the officer was in fact at fault, and will be disciplined internally, and accordingly says officials.

Trooper M.A. Bethea, 32, failed to yield the right of way when he was merging onto the road near the Wade-Stedman Road entrance at 2:19 a.m., a patrol spokesman said. Bethea was chasing a speeder when he entered the road. However, he had not turned on his blue lights, and his cruiser was rear-ended by a vehicle driven by Daniel Vigo, 35, of Cameron, officials said.

Bethea and Vigo were released from an area hospital, where they were treated for minor injuries, officials said. Vigo’s 2003 Honda and Bethea’s cruiser were towed from the scene because they had heavy tire damage. Vigo has not been charged.
